TODAY IN THE DEMOCRAT IT ANNOUNCES THE DEATH OF H.M.''MIKE''HELLENTHAL AGE 99. I NOTE THAT HE DIED THE DAY BEFORE HIS 100TH BIRTHDAY. HE WAS THE FATHER OF OUR OWN MICHAEL HELLENTHAL OF MARION, N.C. I THINK IT WOULD BE NICE IF SOME OF YOU WHO KNEW MIKE WELL AT FMHS WOULD SEND HIM A CARD. MIKE WAS HERE LAST MONTH FOR OUR REUNION MEETING AND ATTENDED SAYING HE WAS BACK TO SEE HIS FATHER WHO WAS IN ILL HEALTH. GOD BLESS H.M. HELLENTHAL! I EXTEND THE SYPMPATHYS TO MIKE!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Martha Machen Humphrey's mother passed away and the funeral was today. I went to Barr chapel and saw both Martha and Neal Humphrey. Mrs. Machen was 98 years young. Unfortunately Martha and Neal will not be attending our reunion. Neal is not in good health and Martha has a cruise going on during that time. We will miss them and wish them the best.

As ever, Sharon Tincher Scholl-Nabulsi

I would like to thank everyone in our class who served in the armed forces, defending for our country. Thank you for giving your time and strength to keep our country free, so that we have wonderful privileges and rights. You all deserve medals as far as I'm concerned!!!

Thank you very much..................

Yesterday, the 24th., our monthly luncheon was held at Chandler's by the Comfort Inn. There is road construction all around, but we all manages to get to the restaurant and back out to the highway!!! There were 10 gals attending, Carmen Pohlpeter, Linda Hartley Hanson, Pat Holmes Bradley, Karan Kreighbaum Faul, Linda Hayes Meyer, Sharon Duncan Strunk, Georgia O'Donnell Merschman, Carole Narigon Wilson, Sally Morton Trancoso, and myself. We had a great time visiting & eating, and discussed the reunion decorations, recipes, family & friends. We missed all the regulars, but glad that Pat was in town and came to spend time w/us. Next month's luncheon will be at The Wire Whisk, 807 Ave. G, July 22nd. at noon, all classmates are invited to join us.

Linda........

It was a little disturbing when I read my obituary in the paper Wed....to say the least!!! At one time, there were 4 Linda Schraders in the area. I had to start using my midle initial. Had a friend from the Class of '60 send an email to my family to see if it was me he read about!!! I'm stillo here..........Linda

We had an awesome turnout for the parade. It was so much fun, we wanted to do it a second time!!!

The "Meet & Greet" at the Comfort Inn was great, good food, great drinks, and a great get-together. Thanks to the committee for the enjoyment. Can't say enough how wonderful everyone looks. And the interviews were FUN!!!

Met this aft., tore down tables, chairs, decorations, swept & mopped, took down pictures, washed windows, and loaded up things. But after all was completed, we all went outside and released all the red & black balloons!!! What a great ending to a great 50th. reunion. Thanks to Sharon & a great committee for all your time and talents and for the memories.

I second all that Linda Kirchner Schrader just wrote on the forum. This reunion was a "BLAST'' to say the least. Sorry some of you missed it but for those of us that attended it was "FABULOUS". Pictures will follow soon. What a great looking class we 'Were' and "Are". Thanks to all who came and thanks to the best committee ever!

Ditto on what Linda & Sharon wrote.  It was so much FUN!  While driving home to the Ozarks yesterday, I got to thinking about how the 3 days together allowed for more conversations with more people (probably the most I have gotten to visit with the most.)

You, planning committeee, did a WONDERFUL job.  The food was excellent.  (I wanna eat there next time I am in town.)  I love the drawing I won in the raffle of the main drag of downtown in 1957.

THANK YOU, everyone, for such a good time.
